Laura Mcilvoy received her PhD in Nursing at Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) in 2005. She is licensed as an RN in the State of Indiana (28076002A, exp. 10/31/2023). Dr. Mcilvoy taught 17 years in an undergraduate/graduate nursing program, obtaining the rank of Tenured Full Professor. During her career, she obtained clinical certifications in critical care (CCRN) and neuroscience (CNRN) nursing. She has taught online for over 10 years in RN-BSN and MSN of Nursing Education programs. Dr. Mcilvoy built a Clinical Simulation Program that now encompasses 6 separate simulation specialties. The data derived from this program on retention of learning has been presented at the National League for Nursing and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing conferences. Dr. Mcilvoy has numerous first-author publications and has been chosen to speak at over 20 national conferences. She joins the College of Nursing, Walden University as PhD Contributing Faculty.
