Dr. Latoya Wells has many years of experience within the academic setting. She has over eleven years of experience teaching including instructing students at the Associates, Bachelors and Masters degree levels. Dr. Wells will serves as a Contributing Faculty member within the Family Nurse Practitioner Masters degree program. Being a new faculty member at Walden she brings with her a wealth of experience both didactic and clinical. Having close to ten years of clinical practice her area of expertise is family medicine. She has provided care to patients in the following areas internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, in-patient, out-patient, hospice, home-health, skilled care, long-term care, and medical-psychiatry. Dr. Wells has a strong research interest in use of Motivational Interviewing within clinical practice. Having completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice Capstone on Motivational Interviewing with Tobacco Cessation, an educational module for Nurse Practitioners.
