Dr. Kourtney Nieves has been teaching for the past 18 years both online and in person (14 years at Walden). She served as the program coordinator for the B.S. in Healthcare Management program here from September 2011- November 2012 and the Program Director for the PhD Health Services from June 2012- January 2014.
She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Health Administration, a M.S. in Health Sciences, a graduate certificate in Medical Group Management, and a PhD in Public Affairs (Health Administration concentration). She also holds a graduate certificate from Florida State University in Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
Her main research area of focus and dissertation centers on bioterrorism preparedness in the health care and criminal justice settings. She has authored and co-authored articles for various peer reviewed journals and have also had the pleasure to co-author a chapter in a text devoted to bioterrorism. She is active in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Association for Undergraduate Programs in Healthcare Administration (AUPHA).
