Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)

Dr. Kim A. Critchlow is a third-generation doctor in her family, succeeding her mother, Dr. Norma L. Mayfield, and her maternal grandfather, Dr. Alfred Stewart. In January 2024, Dr. Critchlow became a 2024 Honored Listee in Who’s Who in America. She has worked in higher education for more than 25 years as a faculty member and administrator. She has taught numerous courses in the fields of business, leadership, and psychology. Dr. Critchlow is a Core Faculty member in the Doctor of Business Administration program in the College of Management and Human Potential at Walden University. In that capacity, she introduced the Pragmatic Inquiry research design to the DBA program, performed as a subject matter expert (SME), and shared her familiarity and expertise with the transformational process to support the program’s continual improvement process. Dr. Critchlow is a DBA student advocate, teaches research, serves as Chair and Committee member for doctoral student committees, and serves as a Chair on two of the college’s committees. Prior to and concurrent with working in higher education, Dr. Critchlow has experience working and leading companies in restructuring organizations to respond to social and regulatory change. She has held leadership positions in a cross-section of industries, such as postsecondary higher education administration, consumer banking, real estate brokerage, software manufacturing, and supply chain management. She is an entrepreneur and has served as a consultant to firms that educate their clients on organizational mission and vision alignment, leadership, and employee development and to identify necessary adjustments in response to social change. Dr. Critchlow is active in and is an advocate for community service and leadership. As a columnist, she wrote monthly articles on time management. Dr. Critchlow believes that education is to be used in service to others. She has a Master of Business Administration degree, Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership degree, and a postdoctoral Master of Science degree in Psychology.
