Kennedy L. Thoren received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) at the University of Iowa in May 2020. She holds a specialty advanced practice certification from the ANCC in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and licenses in both Iowa and Minnesota. She currently works full-time as a Behavioral Health Consultant with Landmark Health and as Contributing Faculty in Walden’s MSN-PMHNP program. Dr. Thoren has several years of experience teaching mental health nursing. She has taught mental health nursing didactic and clinical courses, psychopharmacology, pharmacology, health promotion, and community health. Dr. Thoren completed her doctoral evidence-based practice project on the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) and has both a publication and history of successful presentations affiliated with this.
