Kelly Chermack
Chermack graduated with a PhD in Sociology from the University of Minnesota in 2012 and began working at Walden the same year. Her areas of specialization are sociology of work and organizations, as well as research methodology. These areas of interest blossomed during her undergraduate work pursuing a BS in sociology—also focused on methods and stats, as well as beginning and running her own research consulting firm for over 10 years. She began at Walden as a dissertation editor, then moved to a managing editor. Now, she woks as a Qualitative Research Methodologist, supporting students in crafting and executing their capstone research. In 2013, she began her role as contributing faculty, teaching courses and mentoring students. Currently, she still has her full-time role as a Qualitative Research Advisor, as well as teaching research courses for Human Services and mentoring PhD and DHS students in that program as well. In addition, Chermack no longer runs a consulting firm, but does ad hoc, pro bono work mainly for small business and startups.
