In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Kate Andrews – Dr. Andrews worked as an engineering specialist and program manager for 18 years. During that time, Dr. Andrews spent 2 years in Israel working for the government and lived in Romania for 8 years working with teenage orphans in their integration into society from the orphange life. Dr. Andrews then transitioned to working in Industrial-Organizational Psychology coaching executives, teams, and individual employees. She has a Master’s Degree in Education and one in Psychology as well as a Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.
She has conducted training in the workplace on every-day life situations including effective parenting and communication strategies for employees. Dr. Andrews has developed curriculum for a multitude and variety of courses including leadership, technical training, and lean manufacturing. She has provided guidance as a mentor in statistics and research and psychology courses in communication, motivation, and leadership supervision, and professional development. Dr. Andrews serves learners with their dissertations at Walden University and Wescliff University.
Dr. Andrews is the editor of two European and one American journal, has published peer-reviewed research articles, and is the director of a humanitarian organization in Romania. Dr. Andrews currently volunteers with heroin addicts moving towards recovery and has research projects centered on maching learning in business performance and psychological factors in the workplace. Her research interests include spirituality and emotional intelligence in the workplace and in education, heroin addiction and ADHD, disabilities services, the Big Five personality instrument, distance learning, and group dynamics. She has served as a Research Fellow at the University of Phoenix and presently has a faculty fellowship at Westcliff university.
