In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Prof. John Oshodi was born in Uromi, Edo State. He came to United States of America and settled in Miami, Florida in 1982. He started his academic pursuit in April of 1982 at Miami-Dade Community College in Miami, Florida. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees (BS/MS) in Criminal Justice/Criminology from the Florida International University in 1983 and 1987 respectively. He attended the Carlos Albizu University in Miami, Florida, where he received his Doctor of Philosophy (PH.D.) in Clinical/Forensic Psychology degree with utmost distinction in April of 1991.
Prof. Oshodi became a licensed clinical/forensic psychologist in the State of Florida in 1993. His first professional job as a rehabilitation therapist at the Dade Correctional Institute and then became a Juvenile Probation Officer with the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Services (HRS). In 1993 he established The Oshodi Foundation, P.A. Center for Psychological and Forensic Services in Miami, Florida. His work largely covers providing psychological consultations, testing and treatments to the Florida communities, the inner cities and urban areas of South Florida especially. He is a forensic psychological consultant and practitioner to various government agencies with a focus on adult/juvenile, disability, school, vocational and community issues.
He has taught at various universities and colleges including Florida memorial University, Florida International University, Broward college, Lynn University, and and a faculty member at the Weldios university, Nova Southeastern University and Walden University. In 2011, he introduced the State-of-the-Art Forensic Psychology into Nigeria through and the Nasarawa State University where he served in the Department of Psychology.
