Doctor of Education (EdD)

Dr. Jo Beth DeSoto holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of New Mexico, a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Texas Tech University, and a Doctorate in Special Education from Texas Tech University. She has 23 years of experience teaching in the public school system and over 16 years teaching experience on the Doctoral level. Dr. DeSoto has been with Walden University since 2008. She serves as Senior Research Lead in the field of Special Education; Her research interests include Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, and Educational Assessment. Dr. DeSoto is a professional member of Kappa Delta Pi, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, and The Council for Exceptional Children. Her greatest accomplishments in the work force include writing 2 textbooks for publication, and presenting on the national level at several conventions.
