In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Jill Fuller’s nursing education started over 25 years ago, she completed two Master of Science in Nursing degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo and the University of Pittsburgh. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing degree from Hampton University School of Nursing in 2011, with an emphasis on theory testing and family-related research. She completed her dissertation research on adult substance users in rehabilitation. Dr. Fuller started teaching with Walden University in 2015 in the Master of Science Nurse Practitioner program, with an emphasis in clinical teaching. She began working as contributing faculty in the the MSN department in 2020. Dr. Fuller has worked as a Nurse Practitioner since 2004 and is Nationally Board Certified in Family and Maternal/Women’s Health. She is also an American Academy of HIV Medicine, HIV Specialist. Dr. Fuller maintains her current practice working full time as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner.
