Dr. Oliphant has a Doctorate of Education from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota and a Masters of Public Health from the University of Minnesota. Her research focuses on adolescent health, reproductive health and youth development in public health practice. Most recently, Dr. Oliphant is developing a new research line in oral health integration and HPV vaccination. Her expertise lies in adolescent health, community-based participatory research and public health education. She is an avid educator, grant writer and reviewer and enjoys curriculum development. She is a co-author of PrimeTime, which received recognition from the US Office of Adolescent Health (OAH) as a Program that is evidence-based and can be used for interventions funded by federal pregnancy prevention dollars. Additionally, she served as a subject matter expert for several popular press health books for youth. Dr. Oliphant has taught epidemiology, grant writing, community health, reproductive health and school health at many levels. Additionally, she is a member or chair of many dissertation committees, member of the Walden IRB and also serves writing intensives and residencies.
