Dr. Willis is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor who has worked in various mental health settings for 10 years, including foster care, inpatient mental health state agencies, and outpatient community mental health. She has taught in established undergraduate and graduate counseling programs in in-person, online, and hybrid formats. She received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University.

She is Contributing Faculty in the School Counseling program at Walden. Dr. Willis loves the relationships that she has formed with students and faculty at Walden. Her research interests include racial identity development and inclusion, military deployment experience of African American spouses, and gender roles in the Military.
