In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Jane A. Coddington has been a Board Certified Coach since 2013. As part of her core coach training through the Institute for Life Coach Training, she also earned the designations of both Registered Leadership Coach and Business Coaching Specialization. Dr. Coddington is an I/O psychologist and teaches for two universities, Walden University and Baker College. She is a member of the faculty team that developed courses for the Baker College Masters in Industrial/Organizational Psychology program. She was the lead course developer for Evidence-based Coaching, Research Methods, Individual & Group Factors in the Workplace, and Psychology of Leadership. She has taught many I/O graduate courses (including Evidence-based Coaching, Leadership Coaching: Practice & Process, Performance & Motivation, Psychology of Learning & Training, Personnel Psychology, Psychology of Leadership)
Dr. Coddington was a nonprofit executive for many years before making the move to teach and practice I/O psychology full time in 2011. As a nonprofit executive, she led a human service agency in rural upstate NY with a staff of 120. Included in her duties was providing coaching and supervision for the department directors. Dr. Coddington also holds certificates in management from Binghamton University, Case Western Reserve University and the University of Notre Dame. She is a member of Institute of Coaching.
