Dr. James M. Geckler's(Pronouns: he/him/his) formal training is in Counselor Education, which he earned in 2016 from The Pennsylvania State University. He has a Master's degree (MA) in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Mental Health Counseling from Rhode Island College. Dr. Geckler has worked in the mental health field for over 10 years in various roles (school and college counselor, substance use, crisis, and HIV test counselor) and in various settings (school and university, community mental health, and private practice). He has also taught for five years in higher education during his doctoral program and after graduation. He is starting at Walden U. as a contributing faculty member in the School of Counseling.
