In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Hyuk Kim earned a B.A. from Seoul National University in Korea, an M.S. in International Business from Seton Hall University in New Jersey, an M.S. in Global Management & Strategy from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and a Ph.D. in Global Management & Strategy from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. In addition, he has pursued a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA, concentration in Management) at Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
Dr. Hyuk Kim has offered diverse management, strategy (business capstone), international business courses for undergraduate, master's (MBA and Master of Leadership), and Ph.D./DBA programs since 2010. He has also served as a dissertation committee chair for Ph.D. in Management candidates. Dr. Kim was selected for the “2011-2012 MBA Professor of the Year”.
Dr. Kim's teaching and research interests focus on investigating the various aspects of the interface between the economic/business interests and the social, political dynamics of surrounding society, linking the public sector entities and the private sector companies in the strategic management terms.
He attaches a great importance to an interdisciplinary approach both to research and to teaching since a number of issues and challenges that stem out of the process of globalization cut across the disciplinary boundaries.
Dr. Hyuk Kim has published multiple journal articles and conference proceedings, and his articles have been presented in multiple international conferences, including the Annual Meetings of the Academy of International Business (AIB).
