Dr. Heather Alonge serves as Core Faculty for the Master of Healthcare Administration program. With over a decade of experience in public health and health services, Dr. Alonge has made significant practice and academia contributions. Her professional journey spans nonprofit organizations, state health departments, and enterprise development, and showcases her versatility and commitment to improving healthcare systems.
In academia, Dr. Alonge has excelled in curriculum development, course revision, evaluation, and programmatic accreditation. Her extensive teaching experience includes instructing at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, as well as chairing doctoral dissertation committees. This breadth of experience highlights her dedication to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Dr. Alonge holds a PhD in Health Services and is a Certified Health Education Specialist. She is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Public Health Association, reflecting her ongoing engagement with the broader healthcare community. Additionally, Dr. Alonge serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Girls on the Run Shenandoah Valley, demonstrating her commitment to empowering young girls through health and fitness.
