In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Hannah Lowe holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and is a Licensed Clinical Counselor with a Supervisory Designation specializing in trauma, based in Ohio. With a decade of experience as a trauma counselor and six years as a counselor educator, Dr. Lowe offers profound expertise in her field. She provides therapeutic support to clients with trauma histories through sensorimotor psychotherapy, EMDR, and various person-centered counseling approaches.
As a distinguished faculty member at Walden University, Dr. Lowe contributes significantly to the academic community. Her primary research interests include the dynamics of transference and countertransference, trauma conceptualization and treatment, and the development of counselor competencies. Dr. Lowe is also skilled in Q Methodology, which she adeptly employs in her research to further advance the understanding of these complex areas.
