In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.
Disclaimers: Walden students have up to 8 years to complete their doctoral program unless they petition for an extension.
In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Students must also publish their dissertation on ProQuest before their degree is conferred. Learn more about the dissertation process in the Dissertation Guidebook.

Dr. Chase has BBA in Finance from Eastern Michigan University, an MBA from the University of Central Florida, and a PhD from Kent State University in Economics and Finance.
In his free time he enjoys being in the outdoors, go hiking in the woods, canoeing down a river, or backpacking. His number one hobby by far is working out, You can call him a gym junkie, since he actually go to two different gyms regularly so he can do all of the different exercises I enjoy doing. He does not really enjoying running outdoors since he always seem to have a hard time pacing himself and living in the mountains means there are not flat areas, it is all up or down so to speak. He lives in a small town in West Virginia not near any major city and facilities are limited in my area, so he needs to make the best with what is available. The other hobby he has is travel, especially international travel. He has been to about 50 different countries now and hopes to go and visit more in the near future. He has lived and worked in four different countries, Japan, China, Moldova, and Kuwait. he use to speak Japanese and Chinese fairly well, but do not use them much currently, so of course his level is quickly failing.
He serves as an EMT with the local Volunteer Fire Department. He also serves on the board of directors for the Ohio Valley Boy Scout Council
