In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Geri Rosol has a Ph.D. in Health Services and a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. She has undergraduate degrees (University of Maryland) in Biology and Medical Laboratory Technology. She served in the U.S. Army for over 14 years in a top security position working in clinical and research laboratories.
She has been teaching since 2002 at the undergraduate level and since 2019 at the graduate level. Geri is a Contributing Faculty at Walden in the College of Management and Human Potential. She is a PhD Chair and Committee member for the Industrial and Organizational Psychology department.
She has held a variety of work roles in the healthcare and education industries. Notable professional achievements include having an integral role in setting up the first DNA Flow Cytometry lab in the state of Nevada; conducting environmental microbial assays on Las Vegas show tigers and dolphins; attaining and sustaining a Wound Center of Excellence for 10 consecutive years; and serving as a curriculum developer and course builder for a major college.
Her primary areas of research are qualitative, specifically case studies. Areas of research interest include healthcare leadership, strategic management, quality improvement in healthcare, and healthcare administration.
She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives; ORCID; Maryland Alumni Chapter, Walden University; National Society of Leadership and Success; Golden Key International Honor Society; Health Care Advisory Board; and National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy member.
Professional publications include contributing researcher for a White paper entitled “Social Determinants of Health, Chronic Wounds”, and Walden Dissertation (2018), "Toward Excellence: Exploring Leader Strategies in Chronic Wound Care Centers"
Geri has achieved several awards and honors which include Wound Center of Excellence; Wound Center of the Year; Who’s Who Among Americas High School Teachers; and several VA Letters of Commendation.
