He has also owned several businesses including service, retail, and residential-based rehabilitation for closed-head and spinal-cord injured persons. He has lived in six US cities, traveled to three continents and a half-dozen islands. He is happily married with two great sons, two beautiful daughters, and eight glorious grandchildren. Bicycling is his avid hobby/exercise and he averages 100+ miles/week.
Ed takes the opportunity to be an agent of social change as part of his cycling. He started the Major Taylor Cycling Club Chicago, back in 2007 and it now has over 350 members. The club volunteers time at the Blackstone Bicycle Shop to mentor youth learning to run a small bicycle shop repair business, race bikes, and go on bike tours.
