In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Douglas Turner holds a PhD in International Health with a focus in Education from Touro University International, a DNP with a focus in Healthcare Systems Leadership from Chamberlain University, a MSN with a focus in nurse anesthesia from University of North Carolina Greensboro, a MSN with a focus in Critical Care from University of Virginia, and two undergraduate degrees in Nursing. He also completed a nurse anesthesia residency program at Wake Forest University Medical Center. He is a Certified Nurse Educator and a board certified Nurse Executive-Advanced.
Dr. Turner's practice background includes adult health, psychiatric, critical care, and anesthesia. His teaching experiences have ranged from community college to a tenured professor. He has also held positions as a coordinator, chair, director, and dean of nursing in both public and private universities.
