Dr. Douglas Turner holds a PhD in International Health with a focus in Education from Touro University International, a DNP with a focus in Healthcare Systems Leadership from Chamberlain University, a MSN with a focus in nurse anesthesia from University of North Carolina Greensboro, a MSN with a focus in Critical Care from University of Virginia, and two undergraduate degrees in Nursing. He also completed a nurse anesthesia residency program at Wake Forest University Medical Center. He is a Certified Nurse Educator and a board certified Nurse Executive-Advanced.

Dr. Turner's practice background includes adult health, psychiatric, critical care, and anesthesia. His teaching experiences have ranged from community college to a tenured professor. He has also held positions as a coordinator, chair, director, and dean of nursing in both public and private universities.
