College of Nursing
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)

Dr. Dorothy Dulko is a distinguished clinician-scientist and educator with over 25 years of experience in advanced nursing practice, academic education, research, and hospital administration. A board-certified Adult and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, she holds a Ph.D. in Cancer Nursing Research from the University of Utah and a post-graduate certificate in Bioethics and Medical Humanities from New York University.

Her leadership is rooted in a decade at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she served as the inaugural Director of Clinical Trials Nursing, developing nursing teams in research settings, overseeing study operations, regulatory compliance (FDA), and patient safety, bridging the gap between scientific research and patient care. Specializing in GYN oncology and early-phase clinical trials, Dr. Dulko has spearheaded the translation of complex genomic data into actionable bedside care to advance precision oncology.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Dulko served as an Assistant Professor at Tufts University and as a Co-Investigator and Research Project Director at the Tufts Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies. There, she led an NIH-funded clinical research trial to develop, implement, and evaluate a remote telehealth platform facilitating participant research and clinical care during a public health emergency. This work pioneered a "clinical-trial-in-a-box" model that maintains research integrity through remote monitoring and provides a framework for healthcare equity in diverse and vulnerable populations.

An accomplished scholar, Dr. Dulko’s publications leverage mixed methods to evaluate digital health tools to enhance recruitment and retention of underrepresented populations in research. Her recent scholarship, including "From a Decentralized Clinical Trial to a Decentralized and Clinical-Trial-in-a-Box Platform," focuses on creating patient-centric, equitable trial designs. Her editorial leadership includes serving as Associate Editor for the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing (CJON) and the Journal of Excellence in Nursing and Healthcare Practice. She continues to serve as a peer reviewer for both CJON and the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) journal, Nursing for Women’s Health. Dr. Dulko has numerous publications and presentations on strategies for implementing evidence-based guidelines, oncology symptom management and monitoring, cancer survivorship, healthcare provider burnout, remote technology (telehealth), and genomics.

As Core Graduate Faculty at Walden University's College of Nursing, Dr. Dulko was honored with the 2025 Faculty Excellence Award. She is a passionate advocate for social change, humbly serving as an honored panelist for the Walden University Center for Social Change to address the Black maternal mortality crisis. She currently serves on the 2026 Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH) Research and QI Committee,
Dr. Dulko manages a clinical practice specializing in complex conditions, with a focus on patient-centered care for women needing coordinated care for multiple, complex, or chronic conditions, including reproductive health, preconception counseling, endometriosis, PCOS, cancer screening, peri- and menopause care, and cardiometabolic care.

The same commitment that supports her dedication to patients, families, and the nursing profession inspires her teaching: cultural humility, compassion, and appreciation for the dignity of every human being.
