Dr. Doreen Perkins has been a Nurse Practitioner for over 20 years. Dr. Perkins serves as Contributing Faulty at Walden University in the Master of Science-Nurse Practitioner (Virtual) program. She received a Doctoral in Nursing Practice in 2009 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Nursing. She has provided care to Adult Health patients with an emphasis in urology . She has worked in an academic and community practice setting. Her roles have included health promotion management and providing care to patients with acute and chronic urology conditions. She has participated in prostate cancer screenings in under served communities for 8 years, screening over 2000 participants. Her passion is patient education, providing patients with the information needed to make inform decisions about health care.
