Donna Hickman is a Licensed Professional Counselor and certified school counselor in the state of Texas. Donna has 22 years of experience in Texas public schools as an elementary school teacher and counselor. She has also worked with children, adolescents, and adults in private practice. Her dissertation research examined the impact of role ambiguity on stress and burnout in elementary school counselors. She is an active member of several professional counseling associations with presentations on topics such as school counselor supervision, research methods and statistics, sandtray therapy, counselor self-care, and counseling ethics. Her research interest areas include professional school counselor advocacy, graduate student mental health, and counselor self-care and wellness.
