In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dinesh Sharma is a social scientist, entrepreneur and author with a Doctorate in human development and psychology from Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. He has a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, and an undergraduate degree in Psychology, Philosophy and Pre-Medicine from Loyola University, Chicago, IL.
Starting in 2018, he has been Director and Chief Research Officer at Steam Works Studio, an education tech start-up based in Princeton, NJ. He has served as an Associate Professor (adjunct) in Psychology and Political Science at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. He was an Associate Research Professor at the Institute for Global Cultural Studies, SUNY-Binghamton; an Adjunct Professor in Organizational Psychology at Fordham University; senior fellow at Institute for International and Cross-Cultural Research, NYC; and a columnist for Eastern Eye, Asia Times Online, Al Jazeera English and The Global Intelligence among other syndicated publications.
Dr. Sharma has been a consultant in the healthcare industry for major pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device (e.g., Forest Labs, Wyeth, NDC Health, IMS Health, IRI and others) clients for almost ten years. He lives near Princeton, NJ, with his wife and two children.
