Diane Stutey earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from University of Northern Colorado. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, American School Counseling Association, Association for Play Therapy. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC in CO), Licensed School Counselor, and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S). She was a school counselor in both elementary and middle schools and has worked as a play therapist in schools and clinical settings. Her research interests include examining non-cognitive life stressors that impact children and adolescents in the school setting such as grief and loss, sibling abuse, and teen dating violence. She also researches using developmentally appropriate interventions such as play and pet therapy.
