Dr. Jones is a former certified police officer with the Anne Arundel County Police Department (MD), and a school resource officer with the Baltimore City School Police Department with approximately two decades’ worth of law enforcement/policing experience.

Dr. Jones’ dissertation The Policing Strategy of Racial Profiling and Its Impact on African Americans is published in ProQuest and has been downloaded over 4,600 times since being published in August 2017. Dr. Jones’ two most recent articles are Cultural Competence and Community Policing: A Necessity in a Multicultural Society (Police Chief Magazine, August 2021), and The Origin of Policing in the United States: From the Slave Patrol to Homeland Security Era (SNHU Social Sciences Perspective Journal, March 2022).
