In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Denice "Gaby" Johnson is one of the Associate Deans for the School of Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Studies. She oversees the BS in Public Health, BS in Health Administration, BS in Criminal Justice, BS in Human Services, and BS in Early Childhood Studies. She has been with Walden University since 2009. She has a B.A. in Communication Education from MidAmerica Nazarene University, an M.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Kansas, an MPhil in Education from Walden University, and a PhD in Education also from Walden University. Dr. Johnson's area of expertise is educational equity.
