DeBran Tarver received her PhD in Health Education and Promotion at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in August 2018. She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in Health Education and Promotion in the College of Health Sciences at Walden University, and has served in this role since January 2019. Professionally, Dr. Tarver has over 10 years of experience as an evaluator, project manager, and researcher. She has a vast amount of hands-on experience monitoring and evaluating non-profit, local and federal programs that have diverse groups of people and multidisciplinary teams. She also has experience implementing health education and promotion programs in HIV/AIDS treatment and cancer prevention and survivorship. As a result of her years of experience, she has become proficient in data analysis, survey and focus group development, grant writing, technical assistance, and data collection and management. Dr. Tarver is passionate about researching health disparities in chronic diseases.
