Dr. Danette L. Brown has over 10 years of experience in the nonprofit sector focused on workforce development, child welfare and education in urban communities. She has a Doctorate from Capella University with a concentration in Nonprofit Management. Within the last 10 years Dr. Brown has provided leadership support for over 14 early childhood programs including Headstart, Family Childcare and home visiting programs. She has extensive experience in supervisory and executive level roles as well as skills and experience with start-up programming, community organizing, advocacy, organizational management, service coordination, program performance and evaluation. Dr. Brown is a member of the National Association of Educating Young Children (NAEYC) and was an after school endorser for the Council on Accreditation (COA). Dr. Brown has been teaching online and in classroom settings for the past 10 years with several institutions. In her current role with Walden as contributing faculty in the Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership she hopes to bring her experience and knowledge to help students achieve their academic and professional goals.
