Courtney Prather, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and career academic with a PhD in Clinical Health Psychology from the University of North Texas. Her predoctoral internship was completed in Clinical Health Psychology at Eastern Virginia Medical School specializing in the adult medical inpatient population. She has worked in diverse clinical settings including inpatient and outpatient primary care, bariatric surgery centers, outpatient neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation clinics, and psychiatry consult/liaison. Throughout her clinical work, Dr. Prather has focused on improving the holistic health and well-being of medical populations.
Dr. Prather was a full-time Clinical Professor in the Fitness Wellness Program at Northern Arizona University for 6 years before transitioning to a balance of clinical work, consultation, and teaching. She currently serves as a subject matter expert in various freelance positions, faculty in Naropa University's Mindfulness Transcendental Counseling Program, and contributing faculty in Walden University Clinical Psychology PhD program.
In her free time, Dr. Prather enjoys playing fetch with her cattle dog Scout, traveling full-time, and rock climbing. She also loves cooking, yoga, and reading.
