In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Marsh has been a Contributing Faculty Member in the Master of Social Work (MSW) program since 2023. He has over two decades experience as a Clinical Social Worker and has also been teaching at the college level since 2006. Dr. Marsh has taught in undergraduate and graduate human services, psychology, criminal justice, and social work programs. As a Contributing Faculty Member, his role has been to genuinely support students in achieving their academic and professional goals. He does this by tailoring student interests with the learning outcome goals of the courses he facilitates. Dr. Marsh started his career in 2001 as a juvenile justice clinician. In 2008, he served as a School Social Worker and Department Chair for Social Work. Since 2014, he has worked as a Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC), HUD-VASH Senior Social Worker, Veterans Justice Outreach Coordinator, Assistant Professor of Social Sciences, and Clinical Social Worker/Practice Owner. Dr. Marsh has professional affiliations with the National Association of Social Workers and the National Organization for Human Services. Throughout his career, he has received numerous commendations for his work as a Clinical Social Worker and as an educator.
