In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Beehner joined Walden University in 2016 as a Contributing Faculty member in the Doctor of Business Administration program, within the College of Management and Technology. He has more than six years of college and university teaching experience, and was previously employed in the supply chain management field. His research interests include sustainability, leadership, and workplace spirituality, and his doctorate degree was earned in the area of organizational leadership.
Dr. Beehner has published on the topic of workplace spirituality in a peer-reviewed academic journal, and written two chapters in major research manuals on the topic of sustainability within a business or leadership context. He has made sustainable business education presentations at the Earth Charter Institute in San Jose, Costa Rica, several conferences, and served as a panelist at a regional meeting of the United Nations Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME). He has published books entitled Spirituality, Sustainability, and Success with Palgrave MacMillan, and Systems Leadership for Sustainability with Routledge.
