Dr. Carman Silver is Contributing Faculty at Walden University School of Nursing. Dr. Silver received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hampton University and later received her Master of Science Degree in Biology from Georgia State University. Dr. Silver received her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Hampton University School of Pharmacy in 2006. She has been a Registered Pharmacist since 2006 and currently practices at a closed-door pharmacy as well as precepts fourth-year professional pharmacy students. Dr. Silver has an extensive career in providing and managing pharmacy services with a focus on community and ambulatory care pharmacy. Dr. Siver possesses expertise in diabetes care as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). As a CDCES, she offers training and learning opportunities for patients and their caregivers as well as collaborates with healthcare providers to attain optimal health outcomes in underserved minority populations.
