Dr. Pierce holds a BSN from Arkansas Tech University, MSN from Liberty University, and DNP from Samford University. Her nursing background is cardiac critical care and nursing education. She has earned her Certified Nurse Educator and Certified Online Instructor, and is an active member to the Alabama State Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau International. She was a participant to Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design school for faculty innovation in 2019. She is the Director of Professional Development at a 300-bed hospital, where she is working to improve student achievement by designing, delivering, and promoting high quality professional learning while communicating the hospital’s high expectations for each student, preceptor, mentor, and educator within the organization. She also works as contributing faculty for two universities. Dr. Pierce enjoys educational design and contemporary teaching strategies. Her scholarship endeavors include policy development and innovation within curriculum and she has been accepted for presentations at conferences to speak on the use of design thinking within the nursing curriculum.
