Candace N. Carter holds a bachelor of social work (BSW), a master of public health (behavioral health promotion and education) and a PhD in social work from Jackson State University. Carter has nearly six years of experience in higher education. Carter is a licensed social worker and has worked in the following settings: nursing home, mental health, and child welfare. Her research interests are as follows: teenage pregnancy, child welfare, gerontology, and maternal incarceration.
