In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. A veteran law enforcement officer, Camielle Call graduated with her Doctor of Social Work degree from Walden University in 2020. She is an LCSW, currently licensed in Alaska & Hawaii, who has had a clinical and consultation private practice since 1992. She recently founded Social Work Education and Career Coaching and provides coaching services to social workers needing specific guidelines.
Dr. Call has administered and supervised multiple programs/organizations including community behavioral health clinics in Alaska. She is recognized by the Alaska State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) to provide the required six-hour supervision workshop to LCSWs who are seeking approval to supervise LPC candidates.
Dr. Call is a past chair of the NASW Private Practice Section, having been a steering committee member from its inception in 1996; she later served again as a committee member during 2008 - 2010. In spring of 2010 Camielle was asked to chair the national Specialty Practice Section, Social Work & the Courts, serving three terms as Chair. Yet again, Camielle was asked and was happy to be appointed to the leadership committee of the NASW Private Practice Specialty Practice Section in 2016. She is a well-known speaker, often featured during speaking tours for NASW Chapters throughout the country.
