She is prior Air Force serving 6 years in the mental health field. She completed her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision with a specialization in Counseling and Social Change at Walden University in 2015 and 2021 respectively. She completed her Bachelors in Psychology with a certificate in Multicultural Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2009 and Professional Nursing certificate from Chicago Public Schools Program in 2005. She practices as a Licensed Professional Counselor for the states of Texas and Connecticut and is a Licensed Vocational Nurse for the state of Texas. She is an adjunct professor for the University of Maryland Global Campus and is the owner of a private practice serving the transgender, minority, and veteran populations in the central Texas area.
