Dr. Branford McAllister currently serves as a consultant to graduate students, businesses, and non-profit organizations. His areas of expertise are leadership, organizational change, strategic vision and planning, and quantitative analysis. He has experience coaching graduate students in both qualitative and quantitative research.
Previously, Dr. McAllister served as an operations research analysis subject matter expert (SME) for Odyssey Consulting at Eglin AFB in northwest Florida. The company provides technical, engineering, and acquisition support to the Air Force in their weapons development and test mission. In this position, Dr. McAllister served as a test engineer and as a modeling, simulation, and analysis SME.
Dr. McAllister served as part of the executive management team with Jacobs Engineering, also at Eglin AFB. He was the director of the developmental test support department. He also served as an operational test director.
In a previous career with the US Air Force, Dr. McAllister flew the F-15A and C, serving in a number of operational, command, and staff assignments in a variety of stateside (including Arizona, Virginia, and Florida) and overseas locations (Germany and Iceland): pilot, instructor pilot, mission commander, weapons and tactics officer, flight commander, squadron operations officer, squadron commander, and wing commander. He held the Air Force Chief of Staff chair at the National War College. Col McAllister retired from the Air Force to provide a bit more stability for his family and returned to and still lives on the Emerald Coast (Niceville, FL).
Dr. McAllister began life in Southern California but departed to pursue his dreams of flying in the Air Force. He earned a B.S. in mathematics and operations research from the Air Force Academy, an M.A. in history from the University of Alabama, a masters in engineering administration (M.E.A.) from George Washington University, and a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences (operations research emphasis) from Walden University. He also attended two masters-equivalent military college programs along the way. He graduated from the US Air Force Fighter Weapons Instructor Course at Nellis AFB, NV.
Dr. McAllister is married to Carolyn, who is a retired elementary school principal, adminstrator, and teacher with Okaloosa County Schools. He has two grown, married children and six grandchildren. He has a few passions in life besides the family: sports (all kinds, participant and fan, but especially golf), anything related to applied mathematics, genealogy, photography, and a few others.
