In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Duhainy has 30 years of experience in designing and implementing wireless and cellular Networks and 29 years in technology and computer security. He holds a Masters degree in Telecommunications Electrical Engineering Department at Southern Methodist University and a Ph.D. from Walden University's Information Systems Management program. Dr. Duhainy teaches various courses in Data Communications and Computer Security online. For his Ph.D. dissertation, he worked on developing the most effective approach for deploying a context- and location-aware network, which is particularly important to the U.S. government as it will allow hands-off processing and tracking medical supplies and weaponry. His research focused on RFID deployment methods, minimizing the required number of passive and active tags, and the power requirements needed to operate the networks. His research includes using software agents to safeguard computer networks from attack. He is also involved in various security-related research projects, including Internet of Things(IoT), Blockchain Technologies; Secure Coding; Artificial Intelligence (AI); Cloud Security; Social Engineering; Mobile 5G security; Firewalls and nefarious code detection, and system vulnerability assessments. He received training from the National Security Agency (NSA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), United States Secret Service (USSS), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Director of National Intelligence (DNI), and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on various topics. He is also an active member of NICE and NIST Cybersecurity workgroups, CISSE, AFCEA, and the FBI-InfraGard.
