In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. A healthcare consultant, university professor, author, and committee member with over three decades of experience improving the design and delivery of safe, quality health care and more than a decade within academia. Experience includes aligning evidence-based practices with administrative processes and implementation of systemic solutions to positively influence patient safety and quality healthcare delivery as well as providing adult online learner active engagement. As a Doctorate educated multi-state Licensed RN, Risk Manager, Certified Accreditation Professional, and Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality other expertise includes accreditation, regulatory compliance, performance improvement, online instruction, and curriculum development, with dedication pertaining to continuous improvement within all aspects of healthcare, academia, and the community. This experience allows me to combine a career within healthcare with that of adult education and provides significant insight and parallels that complement each at Walden University.
