Barbara Benoliel is a Senior Core Faculty member and has been on faculty at Walden University since 2007. She holds a PhD in Human Services from Walden University, with a specialization in Criminal Justice. She also holds an MB in Sciences from the University of Tel Aviv and a BA (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Toronto.
As a certified Mediator, Benoliel practices in both civil and criminal dispute resolution and is a mitigation specialist for capital crimes. Her primary areas of research include disputes related to Human Rights and interfaces with justice systems. She is a Restorative Justice facilitator in the Ontario Court of Justice. Additionally, Benoliel is a licensed private investigator and a certified EEOC mediator, and has served both as President and a member of the Board of the ADR Institute of Ontario.
Benoliel has published articles on judicial sentencing procedures, workplace harassment, and police use of force. She is currently a member of the International Ombuds Association, the Association of Workplace Investigators, the European Forum for Restorative Justice, the National Legal Aid Defense Association, ADRIC, and ADRIO in Canada.
