Dr. Autry McGary Byrd is a professional social worker with nearly 20 years of social services experience. Dr. Byrd’s professional experience includes extensive administrative and supervisory positions within the United States Department of Defense, United Way, the Department of Education, and the Department of Family and Children Services providing direct client services and macro administration. Dr. Byrd transitioned to teaching in higher education in the area of social work and human services for multiple colleges and universities which is her primary role now as a social work educator. At Walden University, she teaches in the Barbara Solomon School of Social Work and Human Services. Dr. Byrd recently launched her own business A.B.O.U.N.D, LLC. focused on the maintenance of the social work degree offering professional mentorship, and workforce development strategies as she is committed to the gatekeeping required to develop and promote professional and ethical social work professionals.
