In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Antoinette Myers's formal training is EdD/Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Masters in Secondary Education and Special Education, Dual master’s in Business administration & Healthcare Administration, Advanced Certified Administration and Supervision at the District and School levels. Bachelor of Science Business Management, Associate of Applied Sci. Business Administration Dr. Myers has served as an instructor in various roles over a 45+ year career.
Dr. Myers taught at New York City schools as a certified business distributive, regular and special education teacher. She also worked in curriculum development, professional development in mathematics. Dr. Myers also served as a faculty at the college and university levels with the disciplines. Dr. Myers moved into higher education positions related to teacher leadership, curriculum instructions, clinical supervision, healthcare administration, and business instructor in several online institutions. At Walden University, she was trained in the capstone and Eds capacity. She teaches the doctoral capstone and research methods courses and has served on numerous doctoral student dissertation committees.
Dr. Myers’s current research interests focus on internet-based instructions as well as cognitive-based instructions and teaching immediacy as they apply to student success in higher and adult education. Additional research interest includes an emphasis on concepts and practices on educational leadership leading to scholarly success in Century 21st skills and concepts. Dr. Myers also collaborated on projects for publications on articles, brown paper, and white papers promoting education for learners of diverse needs and other educational materials.
