In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr Fetherston is a doctoral level board certified behavior analyst and speech language pathologist. Her field of teaching is behavior analysis. She is licensed in New York for behavior analysis and licensed in New Jersey and California for speech pathology. She has been teaching in higher education for 14 years. This is her first year at Walden where she is teaching Research Methods. Her primary area of research interests are Behavioral Skills Training and behavioral dog bite prevention. She is a member of ABPA, ABAI, NJABA, and ASHA. She has published in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, Research in Developmental Disabilities, Journal of Human Behavior in the Social Environment, and the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disabilities.
