Dr. Andrea Jennings has been a nurse for over 25 years and her specialty area is in public health, community health nursing, and gerontology. After graduating with her BSN, she entered the U.S. Air Force as a new nurse and predominately worked on pediatric units. The rest of her nursing experiences included medical surgical nursing and community health nursing in traditional health care settings and in community health settings. She received a BSN from Youngstown State University, a MED Degree from Cleveland State University, a MSN from Carlow College, and a Doctorate Degree of Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh. She completed a post-doctoral gerontology fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. In terms of teaching experience, she has been a tenured Associate Professor at a state university. She has taught in undergraduate and graduate traditional and online nursing programs for over 20 years. Dr.Jennings has published her work extensively and has presented at national and international conferences. She has taught community health nursing, nursing research, population health, epidemiology, gerontology, nursing leadership, health policy, nursing theory, nursing practicum courses, and has chaired numerous DNP projects.
