In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Aleksandar Drobnjakovic is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Indiana and a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas. His formal training is in Counselor Education and Supervision, where he has served in multiple roles since 2012. He earned his doctorate from Argosy University and a master's degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Sydney College of Divinity, Sydney, Australia. He served as a Graduate Counseling Program Director with a specific emphasis on teaching graduate counseling courses, program administration, student support, program effectiveness, and staffing. Dr. Drobnjakovic joined Walden University in 2020 as a contributing faculty, and his current research interest is in using modern technology in graduate counseling courses. Dr. Drobnjakovic presents at the state, national, and international conferences. He is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), North Central Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (NCACES), and Texas Counseling Association (TCA) where he serves on the Board of Directors.
