Shakira A. Kennedy serves as an adjunct professor for Walden University Graduate School of Social Work since 2017 Work. She currently is a member of National Association of Social Work-New York State Diversity Committee and an Association of Social Work Boards Scholar.

With over 10 years of operation and facility management experience, Shakira has worked on several business ventures ranging from personal training branding with Universal Fitness; Adoption/Foster Care Homestudy Evaluations through Pawren, Inc; Auctions/Donations for annual Golf Tournament for Senator Thompson through Just Ask PFJ, LLC; conducted community assessments and data analysis and has successfully operated start-ups for a large not-for-profit organization. She currently works as a Full-time professor and an active member of the Westchester Black Women’s Political Caucus.

Shakira has a Bachelor in Sociology from Long Island University-Brooklyn Campus, Masters from Clark Atlanta University and a Doctorate from The University of Tennessee.
