Rhonda Parker, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, ACHPN, PMHNP-BC is an advanced practice registered nurse, ELNEC trainer and owner of a private palliative/mental health practice. She has 18 years clinical experience including intensive care, psychiatric nursing, staff development and education, and supervision of nursing services for the medically fragile/developmentally disabled population. She is former faculty at Medical University of South Carolina, Department of Family Medicine and formerly served as the Vice President for the Lowcountry advanced practiced RN group. Dr. Parker’s DNP project resulted in a legislative toolkit to aid nurses in navigating/advocating for change through the state and national level. The toolkit has been used in the DNP health policy curricula at MUSC. While working with hospice, Dr. Parker identified disparities for those patients that did not meet hospice criteria. After obtaining PMHNP and ACHPN certification, she founded Compassionate Health Solutions (CHS), LLC to address those needs in the SC Lowcountry. CHS is a mobile palliative and mental health service focused on improving quality of life for those in living in residential communities. Dr. Parker teaches end of life nursing care (ELNEC) for Palladium Hospice. She joined Walden University as a contributing faculty member in the psychiatric NP program in 2019.
