In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Greetings everyone! Dr. Bélizaire is an energetic professor here at Walden University teaching both master level and doctoral students. She also will be mentoring doctoral students. . She is also a professor at AT Still Medical School, College of Graduate Health Studies, for about five years where she just received the outstanding professor of the year award and she is an associate online professor and instructional mentor for other professors at Liberty University for the past six years. She is also an adjunct at Xavier University in Louisiana, for both the graduate and undergraduate programs. Prior to this she has taught in the residential forum for over nineteen years, undergraduate and graduate courses in different colleges and universities in NY, including her own alma mater-Hofstra University. She holds a Doctor of Medicine Degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN and has worked not only in the classroom but hospitals and clinics as well. Her field of interest specifically is family medicine, specifically women’s health and has had several discussions, conferences, round table presentations on various women health topics such as fertility, STD’s, types of contraceptives etc. She has over nineteen years experience teaching and shaping young minds to be great innovators of the future in a diverse community. She is also a member of the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, Eta Sigma Gamma ( professor and student) and Physicians for Human Rights. While teaching in the realm of health, Dr. Bélizaire has a unique perspective of watching and educating others through the prism of an educator as well as a clinician, focusing on the total whole aspect of a person instead of a particular part. She teaches on the importance of all components working together for the betterment of the whole individual. She closely works with young people on the importance of health, specifically their reproductive healths, and encourages critical thinking and decision making processes( via scenarios and skits) through various seminars and presentations in the tri-state area of NY and now New Orleans, LA.
